The workshop was really fun yet really helpful. It taught me skills and strategies for how to keep myself safe in dangerous situations such as being approached by gangs. I now know that it is essential that I am quick, vigilant and careful in these situations.

“It was great fun, realistic and practical. I learnt loads.” FB Year 8
The workshop was quite fascinating because I have always been interested in self-defence. I have previously done kick-boxing. It was really good to learn how to stay safe when you’re walking down the street. For example, not wearing headphones in both ears as this stops you from hearing danger around you.
Eddie – Year 6
The self –defence workshop was useful and interesting because we learnt a range of self-defence moves that could come in handy if we are ever in danger. For example, we learnt how to use our arms to block and protect our bodies. We learnt about certain areas of our bodies that we should protect (our weak spots) – the top of our heads, our knee caps and our necks for example.
